
The past week in Washington, D.C. has featured much movement on the broader trade front, as President Trump was able to ink a handful of reciprocal tariff deals with countries in the Americas and in Europe, as well as agricultural-specific tariff reprieves. In these, we can see implications for our North American partners through the priorities the Administration is driving toward. On Capitol Hill, the primary focus is on healthcare policy and its acute implications on the 2026 midterm elections. But that doesn’t mean members aren’t focused on trade. Key Republicans are looking toward key inflection points in December and January.
